Download the Font for the Ancient Filipino Script called Alibata here. You got to love this guy for doing this for free! I used to know this script way back in high school, and I could say I am still a bit good with some of the rules... I just forget some characters that's all but It would be great if I can write more of this again...
Notice that Oriental scripts are wavy or has propensity for arcs and non-terminating, non-linear strokes while the western systems of writing are edgy and terminating. The difference in the philosophies of East and West seem to be apparent in the writing system as early as then. While continuity, community, and connectedness is clear in the oriental scripts (arabian, early chinese, japanese, thai, vitnamese, filipino, and indian) the groco-roman west is focused on individualism (in letter highlighting) and the edges + serifs... etc.
I might be overreading but I think its an interesting observation. Is there any study made already pointing to this difference?
